How to Shave Your Pubic Region
Although shaving partial or all pubic hair has been practiced for centuries, it is becoming a popular trend. Some people like the appearence, others enjoy the lack of hair during oral sex, or whatever reason, it has appeared to gain more popularity in recent years.
1. If you have long pubic hairs, trim hair with clippers or scissors before using a razor to shave in close. Electric clippers are best for this purpose as they usually have safety guards and there is little risk of accidently snipping your delicate skin, or worse!Do this for about a week, if skin gets irritated, stop for a couple days, then start again.
2. Take a warm bath beforehand as it will allow your pores to open and a closer shave.
3. Apply shaving cream a few minutes before shaving to soften hairs. Consider using a shaving cream with additional moisturizer or aloe. It is good practice to do a test patch first, is your skin doesn’t react, continue with the rest, otherwise find a milder cream.
4. Be sure to use a new razor blade, old blades take more strokes, irritate skin more and increase chances of cutting yourslef.
5. When shaving, stroke an area no more than twice to reduce skin irritation. On the first stroke, go “with the grain” to remove most of the hair, then go “against the grain” for a smooth, close shave. If “going against” tends to irritate you, then skip that and use both strokes “with the grain.” Shaving this area against the grain can lead to very painful, itchy ingrown hairs for some people.
6. Some people find a daily application of baby powder or talcum powder especially helpful after shaving to keep the area dry and irritation-free. If irritation occurs, stop for a few days then start again. Your skin will adapt and there should be less iritation each time.
A few warnings now that you have some guidelines:
1. People who allergic and react to some shaving creams: This area seems to have heightened sensitivity. Furthermore, if it does react, your natural sweat and the natural abrasion this area receives will most likely make your life a little inconvenient temporarily. If you do decide to shave this area and are suffer a reaction, make sure you use hypoallergenic shaving cream.
2. People with sensitive skin may wish to avoid shaving for the same reasons. Again, if you chose to shave, consider shaving cream made for sensitive skin and use a hypoallergenic moisturizer afterwards.
3. Consider closely trimming your hair or waxing instead. It provides many of the benefits of shaving.
4. Letting hair grow out after shaving your pubic area can be again irritating. The sharp hairs combined with the sensitive skin will make you realize just how much movement happens in that area on an average day. Chaffing is nearly unavoidable and lasts for a couple days if shaving is discontinued.
Extra
You and your partner may discuss shaving each other. This can be a very erotic and sensual activity. Be sure to communicate very clearly during the act and proceed very slowly. Find out what they like, what feels good, and what doesn’t. If you take the time to learn how to do this the best for them, they will love you all the more for it.
Smoothy
A Smoothy…. Until recently this word was unknown in the nudist world, but now it is becoming fully accepted. Smoothies drop their last piece of clothing - their pubic hair - and so these nudists are barer than nude! The word ‘smooth’ refers to the clean shaven body. Naturism has discovered smoothness: men and woman are getting smoother and smoother.
