Naturism: What is It?

Now, you may remember that I used the term "naturist". Naturism and nudism are almost identical, except for one important difference: Nudism can be done anywhere, but naturism is done in a natural environment. My favourite naturist resort is River Island Nature Retreat in New South Wales, Australia. It's a chaotic cluster of log cabins, caravans and camping sites surrounding an exquisite central deck with three spas, two heated pools and shaded seating. All around are mountains, forests and rivers, with paths, canoe launch areas and the occasional waterfall (not to mention kangaroos snuffling at your tent at night). This is naturism at its finest, and I highly recommend it (or any other naturist resort) as your "first time" choice.

In summary: nudism, when you get right down to it, is simply being nude in public. Naturism however is all about being nude in public in natural environments. Nudists go to nude campsites, bed-and-breakfasts, resorts, beaches, and more. Naturists…well, they do much the same. It's just that they tend to go to the campsites and wooded resorts more often - they like trees and breeze and rivers and grass (oh my!). So which are you?

Nude Recreation - Why?

Nude Recreation is fun, healthy and good for the soul. It exposes the whole body to the air and sun, and gives people an added incentive to be fit. It promotes healthy naturist family values. Unwholesome curiosity about the naked body, which is often the source of lust, will be removed; fuel for fantasy will be gone. Our children will grow up with healthy attitudes toward the human body and easily understand the changes in their own bodies. Their curiosity being satisfied will have an additional reason to say "no" to sex as teenagers. The bathing suit is the best example of dysfunctional clothing.

Smoothies drop their last piece of clothing - their pubic hair - and so these nudists are barer than nude! The word ‘smooth’ refers to the clean shaven body. Naturism has discovered smoothness: men and woman are getting smoother and smoother.
